I`ve got a lot of buildup of tire dressing on my tires. Most of it is Endurance High Gloss and Armorall. The stuff will not come off my tires. I tried a high concentration of Dawn and a stiff brush but it didn`t even put a dent in it. The suds are pure white and nothing rinsed off. I can still swipe black off with my finger.:aww: Is there anything I can use that will cut through this muck?

The next thing to try would be an industrial cleaner like greased lightning (the strongest I know of) and simple green (somewhat milder). Neither would be great for the wheels, though.

An industrial non-diluted degreaser will do the job, usually is purple in color. Check your local auto parts store, Lowes, HD, or wally.

I would bet that Eagle One All Wheel and Tire Cleaner will take it off.

Hmm....I don`t think I`ve ever found one that held up more than a couple of weeks or so.

I`m with Setec - I got some EagleOne a couple of weeks ago and it seems real strong - I`d take it to the pay `n spray - apply E1, dwell and power wash (stay clear of any spray back - strong cleaners can be nasty)

If it`s really bad i break out the bottle of bleche white, but only before i wash the car because that stuff scares me. Try an APC first.

A stiffer brush works for me. I have a brass one that I like.

For nasty dressings (e.g., the hideous dealership [stuff] ) I`ve had great results with Griot`s Rubber Prep. Pretty pricey for that little bottle, but it works better than any of the regular rubber cleaners I`ve tried.

Just be a *little* careful...the sidewalls on the S8`s tires are so soft that even a regular tire brush scratches them up something awful.

I have to agree with the Eagle One comments, I`ve been using that for years on my tires, occasionally with a soft brush for those tougher spots.

This stuff works really well. As soon as you spray it on the tire you can see it stripping old tire dressing off.

I remember reading a thread on here a while back about Eagle One all wheel being a good OTC tire and wheel cleaner since the most recent formulation is non acidic. With it being recommended for this job (which makes me think its stronger that I thought), does everybody try to keep it away from delicate wheels?

Another vote for Eagle One.
