I had the pleasure of detailing this gorgeous Porsche Cayman S. I arrived in the morning to the client`s house and inspected the car before starting to give the client my recommendation. Swirling was light as expected since the car had barely been driven. A major disappointment however was that the clear bra installer installed the film over swirled paint, and did not clean the bumper properly. This sealed in sand, rocks, etc. Such a shame on a beautiful car.

The vehicle was purchased used before winter, and sat at the dealership all winter and picked up after winter. During this time neither I or the owner is sure if or how the vehicle was cleaned, so there are some deep swirls here and there as you will see from the pics.

Pics of when I arrived. The car had been washed that morning so it was looking clean.

- Washed with ONR

- Rims cleaned with Meg`s Hot Rims Wheel Cleaner & various brushes

- Wheel wells cleaned with Purple Power @ 5:1

- Tires cleaned with Purple Power @ 3:1

Rims were then clayed on the outer surfaces, behind the spokes and the entire barrels as much as I could.

After doing this I brought the vehicle into the garage and took a break to let the paint cool down as the sun was beating down quite heavily. While I let the paint cool, I took a couple of before shots of the hood.

I recommended a One-step to the client as I felt this would be able to remove the defects in the paint.

Given that Porsche paint is soft, I opted for a white pad and SIP on the rotary @ 1400rpm. After 2 polishing sets and IPA wipedown:

After this, I proceeded to do the rest of the car in the same order. Pictures:

After polishing, I rinsed the car down to rid of the dust, check my work for holograms and trails, then wiped down with IPA and checked everything over once more.

After rinse:

After the IPA wipedown, I decided on an LSP. I wanted something that would not attract dust and made the paint look wet. I decided on the Poli-Seal and Opti-Seal combo.

- Poli-Seal on Blue 6" Sonus Pad via PC @ 6

- Opti-Seal via foam applicator x2 including rims (different applicator of course)

- Tires dressed with 303

- Trims received Poorboys Trim Restore, buffed before pictures with a microfiber

- Interior vacuumed, wiped down and dressed.

- Windows received Poli-Seal inside & out.

I was SO disappointed because the sun was stuck behind the clouds for the rest of the day so it took away from how wet the paint looked. These pictures were taken about 1 hour after the Opti-Seal was applied (waited 30 mins between coats):

Final pictures, and LOTS of them :D:

Great job! Looks PERFECT!

Since you applied SIP and OPS, do you still consider it a one-step?
