You can mix it 50/50 with de I. THe label will always tell you the concentration.

I always dilute the IPA I buy 1:1 with distilled water.

There is a variety of ethanol from Scotland I use that is never diluted, always used full strength.

Most use 70% rubbing alcohol and cut it 1:1 with water to make it 35%.

I have access to 99% so i use that 1:1.

I want to use it before applying glazes/sealants/waxes and for removing the "oily swirl look" from waxes/sealants when i am done. What is the safest mixture for not damage the paint on the first case and what for the second case not to remove the wax/sealant but only the streaks from the wax.(i cannot remove it completely with MF towels : ( )

Thanks

Not stupid at all. 90% (or whatever) only says that it is 90% Isopropyl Alcohol, but doesn`t say what the balance is. You might assume it is 10% water, but it could easily be 10% n-propanol, or 5% n-propanol, 5% water, etc. Either way, I`d just experiment a little with different dilutions to see what works for you. Pure IPA won`t hurt anything if you just want to use it straight.

The problem is that it is nod written Isopropyl Alcohol but Pure Alcohol 95%.is it the same??

My guess is that what you have is ethanol. (Does it say "denatured" anywhere?) Not the same thing, but can be used for the same purpose.

It doesn`t say denatured anywhere. It is a clear liquid and it said only 95% pure alcohol(spirit is the other word that we use for that)

Smells like Alcohol :p.i cannot say that it smells like anything else.Vodka for example contains 40% alcohol and this one is 95% pure alcohol...I cannot find anything else about this.It is not a laboratory product but it comes out with similar way that wine does...
