As title states. Just tried it out for 1st time today. Can anyone tell me the things I am doing wrong?

I wanted to go easy so I used LC white pad w/ Menzerna Intensive polish. I did everything the way I would have done w/ my PC. Maybe the paint was too warm and/or I wasn`t holding the machine so it was flat on the surface. But it was leaving a lot of residue that was difficult to wipe off. And it really wasn`t getting the fine scratches out of the paint (due to incorrrect use I`m sure).

So what was I doing wrong? Too soft of a pad, not flat, not using it at a high enough speed? I did my hood and trunk. On the trunk, I set it at speed 6 but gradually worked up to that speed w/ the trigger.

Help pls.

TYIA!

P.S. Never had any problems using my PC.

Ok. Pretty much figured what I did wrong:

1.) Too much product. I did the "ring" of product. Next time I attack it I will just use 3 small droplets on the pad.

2.) White pad not hard enough. So intensive polish w/ white isn`t really gonna do me any good.

3.) Didn`t apply enough pressure down on the machine itself.

Will try to attack it tomorrow morning w/ Orange pad and Menzerna SIP.

Sounds like you figured it out well. Also, make sure you don`t use Menzerna when the temperature is below 60 degrees, as it makes it more difficult to break down. What car were you detailing? IP and a white pad is strong enough, unless your car has super hard cc. If you did not break down the product, then it would not work as well. You might also have to slow down a bit.

My 2002 A4. So w/ not enough pressure combined w/ Audi hard paint, I didn`t get far lol. Also just found out that Intensive polish is much harder to remove then the SIP.

Yeah, SIP would be a much better choice.

Yep. Reason I didn`t was I was a littler nervous w/ new tool. 1st time gitters I guess. Will use SIP and orange pad tomorrow (weather permitting).
