new to porter cable

so im new to the porter cable and just purchased the poorboys polish and wax kit from autogeek, and was wondering if the counterweight is necessary with the 5 inch backing plate that comes with the kit, i know the counterweight says for use with 6 inch backing plate only but do they make one for the 5 inch backing plate or should i buy a bigger backing plate and counterweight for the 6.5 in pads that it includes
