With all the sealants and waxes out there its a bit overwhelming at times. Like to detail black vehicles and enjoy Souverign wax. The application is a breeze and so is removal. The downside is, it sure doesn`t last long. A few weeks then its gone with moderate washing. Like to try a sealant, but want to keep the "wet look". Just ordered some DWG and can`t wait to try it out. Need to put a sealant on because of the high amount of pollen here in socal. On a former post, it is true. The wax collects the pollen and turns a black car yellow! The yellow cars have nothing to worry about LOL.

Looking for gloss, durability and wet. What do you guys like to use?

Thanks,

I have three black vehicles and am now using Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish (for that wet look) followed by DG 105 x 2 then AW every washing or so.

OK, after multitudes of posts on Optimum and Ultima. Which is a better value: 8 oz of Optimum for $24.95 or 4 oz of Ultima for $35.00. I plan to seal every few months or every other month. Is Ultima that much better it can be sold for $10 higher than Optimum and contain 1/2 the volume?

I`m a big fan of Ultima PGP. Easy to apply, looks amazingly reflective, and last quite a while. Combine that with DWG, as Detail Doc perfectly did, and I think its the best look you could hope for.

The Ultima is a much better value. It is applied very thin and a little goes a long way. I have applied over 40 layers now on various cars and the bottle is still almost full. I also like it because it is extremely easy to apply and in my opinion it has less of that plastic, sterile look of most other sealants. It looks great by itself or even more amazing when combined with Danase Wet Glaze. Here are some pics with UPGP and DWG.

LOL, I was reading a previous post that linked to your write up doc and was impressed to say the least. I`m about 10 miles from you! Before you even posted I had made a decision and ordered a 4 oz bottle of UPGP. Earlier today ordered some DWG! What a nice combo. Can`t wait to have some fun. My allergies are on overload with all this pollen. Think this is the worst year yet with all the airborne materials. Thanks for the great information. The cars will be happy :).

Cool. Where do you live? Yeah, my allergies have been really bad also. This Riverside air sucks. There are quite a few of us here in the IE. We should all get together one day. What kind of car do you drive and color? Have you detailed before?

I`m in the Chino area. I drive a black bimmer and do selected jobs on the side. Have a full-time business and enjoy detailing. Would be great to meet you one of these days!

Lot of detailing opportunities here in California. It`s all in the marketing. With so many cars and people here are so "into their cars", it`s almost like a car sub-culture. There are a handful of guys in Socal that I`ve seen posting in the forum.

I have a couple of sealants. One is FK 1000P, its pretty durable and looks especially good on metallics. The other sealant I use is one that doesn`t really get a lot of talk here but I really like is Prima Epic.
