View Full Version : removing front plastic piece from PC

i need to take the front black plastic cover off to i can fit the pc better into a tight spot i am trying to use it. how can you take this off without breaking it?

I don`t think anyone has... let alone would it be safe to operate the PC with that plastic removed.

When I ordered mine in a kit a few years ago, that part was loose and it makes noise when I crank it up. I would also like to remove mine or figure out a way to tighten it down.

mine was loose also

so I went to a hardware store

and found 2 rubber washers, 2 flat washers

and 2 hex head cap screws



now it`s tight, no more "rattle"

i need mine off so i can get it between wheel spokes

As Denzil alluded to, I suspect there are rotating gears under that cover...not good for fingers or wheel spokes.
