A couple of weeks ago, i polished with OP and did not get the finish I wanted.

I went over the Touareg last week, one panel at a time. I used Optimum Compound with a yellow LC pad(6.5in), then followed with Optimum Polish on a white LC pad. Applied Klasse SG after 50/50 IPA wipedown. I plan to add a 3rd coat next week and top with P21S carnuba.

I did all of this with a PC7424.After a bunch of great advice, I plan to do the next detail with some 4 or 5 inch pads and possibly some different compound and polish combos. Here are some photos of the results. I put them in a slideshow to conserve bandwidth.

Let me know what you think.

Looks pretty good to me. The only question is are you happy with it?

I am very happy with it considering this is my first time with a machine. I know it can be better, but that`s the way it goes(most people wont notice the scratches that I can still see). This is the best this car has ever looked.

big improvement, but still hard to see since the sun is barely on the hood cause the sunset. You are doing a pretty decent polish so I would think it should come out good. How long are you working the polish in for?

how hard is the touareg to detail? I have a black one coming up in about 2 weeks and I want to be prepared... car just came out of the shop like a month ago so the paint should be in okay shape.
