CFL and regular flourescent lights?

So I`m in the process of purchasing a house that has a nice 2+ car heated garage. There are the old school 4` flourescent balast type lights in the ceiling now, which almost all need replacing. I think I may replace them with the Energy Star Compact Flourescent lights.

Does anyone use the CFL`s in their shop? If so, is the look of the light the same as the older longer tube lights? Any pro`s/con`s that you can share?
