Hello Autopia

After weeks of the pc7424/UDM debate, I decided on the UDM.

My next issue is products. From reading here on the forum, it seems that different products work better with certain types of paint.

My primary vehicle is a 2005 Black Toyota Camry and the other is a 2001 Silver Ford Taurus.

The paint condition on both are "ok". The camry just has swirls and bug damage on the front, including missing strips of paint from the front bumper where someone (not I) tried to spray the love bugs off with a pressure washer w/o first treating them with some tar & bug remover.

Any advice/recommendations on clay/polish/sealant/wax would be greatly welcomed!

Also which foam pads for UDM? brand/size.

TIA

I have also decided to get the UDM as well and have the exact same questions. I hope someone replies to help us out!

I`m quite new but I got the UDM a few weeks back and got to use it a couple days ago on my 98 escort. The sonus sfx2 polish and pad are great for just removing swirls. After a couple passes most of the swirls were gone. If the paint is is good conditon with just some swirls you should be ok with sfx2. I`m gonna try the sfx1 polish and pad to try to get rid of the scratches. Again i`m no pro, I just did my first detail recently. As for the clay anything will be good. I got the meguiars clay kit from walmart or target and it made the car look awesome. It`s a 98 so it had plenty of crap on it. For the sealants and waxes you can look at the review tab on the top of the page and see what the best are. People seem to like megiuars nxt 2.0 recently but I haven`t been able to use it personally.
