I have an 2004 Tahoe that I removed the rear badges. There is ghosting from the lettering, what`s the best OTC remedy ? I have an orbital plus a PC high speed buffer.

Cheers

To be honest, there is no remedy except for time. The ghosting is because the rest of the paint has faded with the sun and paint under the badge has not. It will eventually even out but it might be a few years.

I had ghosting when i did mine, but was removed with a machine polish. It was only only a 18 month old car so you may not be so lucky. It did look pretty bad originally though, despite a clay etc. 100% removed with Menz 3.02 on an Audi.

Good luck with it.

My experiences have mirrored those of both Danase & Bigpikle, sometimes going one way and some times going the other.

Try polishing with something fairly aggressive and then try waiting if you still see something. FWIW there wasn`t any ghosting that I`ve noticed on my `04 Denali XL, but it got a good polishing after the debadging.

What would be the recommended polish to use with a buffer, anything over the counter ?

I live near near CG, so I could pick up something from them. Any ideas ?

Thanks
