What kind of Alcahol are yall using?



i know its to clean surfaces to prep them for polishing and waxing but i was wanted to know more about the Alcahol... where can i get it? what kind is best? how do i dilute it? thanks

I`m using Iso-Propyl Alcohol (or Isopropanol or IPA) and use them to wipe down polish residue (including oil left by the polish) to check whether I`ve removed all removable scratch or swirl or not.



Dilute it into 50:50 using distilled water (pure H2O). I believe that it should be available in your local chemical store or pharmacy store.

go down to your nearest walgreens or pharmacy of ur choice, get a 32 ouncer for 1.69, replace the top with a spray nozzle and you`re all set...when u do a 50/50 wipedown, do what artronnie said, dilute it..i/e...1oz isopropyl alcohol/ 1oz distilled water

You guys using stuff that`s labelled "70% Isopropyl Alcohol" as well? Can`t seem to find a 100% one.

so an alcohol wipe down is a alternate method to a wash after polishing?

The stuff you`re looking for is 91% IPA. You may have to ask for it at the store.

Yep. I usually cut mine 50/50 with distilled water.

Jusr picked up IPA 91% and distilled water(1gal) at CVS for under $5.

The 91% IPA is quite strong. Nitrile gloves, for example, are not adequate when working with it.

what colour is the Iso-Propyl Alcohol (is it transparent). I am having difficulties find it in Greece.
