2003 black Z06-Do corvettes come in any other color? I can`t remember what its like to polish any other color vette. :D

Interior, no pics.

Vac

All surfaces wipedown with IZ cockpit premium.

Z9/10 leather products for seats

IG for windows.

Process QEW wash

Clay with Zaino Z-18 clay and Z6 50/50 for lube.

Polish with Mequairs 105 compound/yellow edge wool/1700 3-4x

Final polish with 3M Ultrafina/3M blue foam pad/1700.

Moved car outside into 32°f temp and 20MPH winds.

Foam lance w/ PW and 3oz of Z7 in a 32oz bottle filled with water.

Wash with sheepskin mitt.

Clean wheels (PB SnR) and tires (AM red hot APC)

Rinse off everything including icy foam water combo with pressure washer.

Car returned to 51°f garage to let light ice melt. Did not want to dry off car with any ice on it, no need to marr a freshly polished surface.

Applied 2x of:

80% Z5pro/20% Z2pro/2 shots of Z8 and 4 drops of ZFX. Total mixed 3/4oz.

I est the surface temp of the paint was in the 40°f area. Each application of zaino took approx 20-30 mins to cure. I applied it very thin as usual.

Z8 wipedown.

Bret showed up when I was finishing up polishing. He took some pics of my fun in the cold, dried the car, Z-16 to the tires and polished the tips with deepfinish chrome. Thanks Bret!!!

Nice work. Boy you sure look cold. Its the exact opposite here in the summer, where you just can`t wait to get back into the garage because its so damm hot.

I hate detailing in the freezing like that it seems to take forever, good job though.

Very nice turnaround, the finished trunk shot looks super wet. How did the M105 and Ultrafina combo work for you? Im thinking of that as an alternitive to SIP/106.

Looks great Bryan. Do you carry both buffers with you or do you switch from E2K to a backing plate? It would sure be cool to get the UF blue pad E2K style wouldnt it? Do you usually run UF that fast (1700)?

Thanks BC! Fingers got a little chilled, but the rest of me was fine. Yes we have that fun here as well in the summer.

Thanks Jdubb! Just the wash in the cold, can`t really complain.

Someobdy out there needs to step up big, before I quit using the M105 and UF combo.

Thanks Wade. Actually I got my megs 66 backing plate stuck on the metabo, I`ll have to take some tools to it I guess. So I used the hitachi with the E2K and yellow wool and the metabo with the UF. I think the 3M video says you can run it at like 1800 or maybe 2000 max, check the video first. With the megs 66 cushioned backing plate and the 3M 8" blue pad, it runs as smooth as glass at 1700.

how did water not freeze while drying? Great job :)

Thanks scout! The car was moved back into the garage to thaw out.

Awesome Bryan!!!

Thanks Brian!

Ugly SOB isn`t he? :spit:

Glad the Vette turned out better than that jacket. ;) :)

The car would of turned out better then the jacket with a can of pledge. :chuckle:

Nice work! I hate those cold days. Just did a car half in the sun, half in the shade. Such a pain.

Killer work all around.

I had big problems with a black Z06 a couple years back. Glad that 105 is out there to help now.

I feel your pain with the cold. jsatek and I were ONR`ing a 550i last weekend and it was 16*.

Really cannot imagine how it feels like to wash a car in such a cold weather since I am staying in a tropica country. The vette looks really good, even covered with all the foam during the wash, you still can see the nice sky reflection on the bonnet. In the garage the car looks simply flawless, GREAT JOB :2thumbs: .
