What would you tell someone who has been consistently washing their car with Dawn or laundry detergent for years???

Laundry detergent?!? That`s a new one for me

But I dunno if I`d bother telling them anything; unless they live in a vacuum they know there are other products out there and, well, I just don`t much care how other people treat their stuff :nixweiss

I would ask them if they use a brillo pad for a wash mitt.

Well maybe this is another new one for you. My dad used to wash his old Dodge truck with laundry detergent and a MOP. But it really didn`t matter, he painted it with house paint and a brush.

LOL, yup almost all Dawn thread leads to a debate about whether it is ok to wash your car with Dawn or not, even if that was not the originial. :hmph:

I`d just tell them "I hope you wax your vehicle after every wash..." Dawn will strip it right off...

Tell them to use the furniture polish "Pledge " as a LSP........I actually have seen an older gentleman by my church using Pledge....I had to ask him why and he said he has been using Pledge as a wax for 30 years....:rofl
