Would you guys happen to know if Turtle Wax Platinum has cleaners? I`m thinking of melting all my unused paste waxes here all together but I want a pure wax.

Hi Grabby...are you joining the *wax cooking* club? :chuckle:

Did that thread you asked about give you the bug? ;)

I guess if the TWPUG is only a small proportion of the wax mix the cleaners may be sufficiently diluted. TWPUG certainly imparts a great look to darker colours.

Which waxes are you thinking of mixing?

TWPUG (both liquid and paste) has VERY light cleaners. I wouldn`t consider them strictly as cleaner waxes, because they need considerable pressure and effort to remove a Sharpie pen mark. Dedicated cleaner waxes remove the pen marks immediately. So, the cleaners are rather bonding promoters.

Interesting thread. I didn`t know it had cleaners in it either.

I also don`t go around marking up my paint with Sharpies - LOL :) Is that the true test for cleaners? (kind of like the MF test on CDs?)

Not the benchmark test but it is useful. You can develop a feel how gently you can go over an area without stripping the underlaying coats. Not a scientific approach though. :)
