For those who have melted paste wax, does melting the paste affect looks or durability of the wax?

never has for me

use a double boiler so the wax does not get too hat and you should be fine

Probably not as long as you don`t get it hot enough long enough to evaporate some of the carriers. Even then, it would probably just be a little harder to use.

 Ok, I am a bit confused. Some people keep their can of paste wax on ice (why?) and others want to melt them. Melting them though sounds interesting, especially when they are rock hard like P21s100%. However, doing that might seriously affect durability. What is the best way to do that and once melted, how do you store it?

That was the first thought that came to mind when I saw those pics. I can see that, me melting wax in her expensive Renaware cookware, she would http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/aktion/action-smiley-073.gif

What is a Double Boiler? (http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-a-double-boiler.htm)

I use a dollor store metal mixing bowl that rest in a pan with about An inch of water simmering in it

I forget who`s idea it was (maybe Scottwax?)

but a 50/50 mix of #16 & FK`s Pinkwax

makes a very nice wax
