Hi i was searching all over the web and i found this great forums on anything about car detailing so what better place to ask this question. When i bought my car i knew it had this stains but i never thought it be hard to remove so i didnt care much about it. It looks like bird droppings where left on the car for a while and the sun did its magic, i tried washing and waxing and clay barring it and nothing. If it helps when you pass your fingers around the stain its smooth with tiny little sand paper bumps on it. Many of the car detailers i have asked about this they telling me that its passed the clear coat and a complete paint of the door/roof must be done and stuff but i think they just want the money, here are some pics hopefully some of you experts would help me out.

No one had this problem before?

I`ve never had that problem because I check my paint about everyday and wash the car about twice a week (in warmer weather). Even in cold weather I always check for Bird Bombs regularly.

If I did have that problem, I`d start by using a LC Orange 5.5" pad on the PC with some SSR2.5 (since that`s the stuff I currently have). I`d try a few passes and see if it cleared it up. If not, I`d have to debate on whether to wetsand and hope that the above combo could remove my wetsanding marks.

It`s really hard to tell from the pictures since some are blurry and others the "etching" is too washed out to tell. It looks like it could have eaten through the clear, but again I can`t really tell from the pics.

Edit: I see that you are new, so welcome to Autopia. Also LC = Lake Country, PC = Porter Cable 7336/7424, and SSR2.5 is made by Poorboys. While that`s not the only combo that might work, it`s the combo that I have and would try. You`d have to follow up with a lighter polish/pad to remove the marks left by the orange/ssr2.5 most likely.

You could also try some Meguiars Scratch X, a terry cloth, about 2 tons of elbow grease, and multiple applications to remove it too. I`m not sure how effective it would be, but it might help some if you don`t have a machine to buff with.

That`s a tough one...ScratchX, or touch up paint/Sanding?

It`s kinda funny you have bird bombs on your door panel. That`s very odd!

It`s hard to see the pics, but try what CleanGSR said. It should remove by hand, but if not.. you`ll need to get a hold of a Porter Cable and a white foam pad, or possibly an orange pad with a ligh polish.

To avoid bird droppings... avoid parking under tress, or even light poles. Also pack a MF towel, and a quick detailer so you can spray and wipe once you discover this on your finish. Also NEVER use a paper towel on your finish. If you need to use a paper towel.... I would blot dry it. Not wipe up or down, or side to side because it can scratch you finish.

:welcome
