So I ordered the "Porter Cable 7424 Starter Kit" from detailed image (LINK (http://www.detailedimage.com/wax.php?id=1042&url=detailedimage.com/DI-Packages-M29/Porter-Cable-7424-Starter-Kit-P138/) in case you want it) and it arrived yesterday morning. I immediately went to my friends house since he wanted to see it in action as well. I must say that after detailing by hand this is a lot more better and its fun in a way. Anyway, as it was about 3 and me and my friend never touched a PC before, it took awhile to get used to and actually started to correct (2 hours:help: ). Therefore, I only have 1/2 trunk shots for now :hairpull

Wash with NXT Carwash

Claybar with a Mother`s claybar w/NXT wash as lubricant

Yellow cutting pad w/PC and Menz IP (tons of passes seeing the condition of my paint)

White polishing pad w/PC and Menz FP II (2 passes)

Wax with NXT Paste Wax

Now for the pics, but like I said, I only finished half the trunk yesterday. I did the rest this morning in about an hour though :waxing:

Sorry for the inadequate lighting, it was a spur of the moment thing and it was getting dark when we finished haha

Tips, criticisms, or both are appreciated. I`m here to maximize the correction I can do since the rest of my car is like, or worse, than the trunk :wall . I`m satisfied with the amount of correction I did though. I almost thought I had to use a rotary or upgrade to the Flex to get rid of them. Thanks for looking!

That last pic looks good :xyxthumbs . Can you post more pics from further away and at different angles? It is hard to see the results from those pics. Check out other posts in the click and brag section to give you an idea of what type of pics to post. Some sun shots would be nice too.

The 50/50 shots so HUGE improvements. Keep pluggin` Like detaildoc said lighting shows your work a little better.

Incredible results for a first timer with a PC. Good products you`re using too.

One suggestion though. Lexus cars have ultra soft clearcoats, so you have to be careful with your polish/pad combo. It does not take much of an aggressive combo to correct the paint on a Lexus. Always start with the least aggressive combo first. Next time, consider using the orange or even white pad first with IP then the gray or white pad with Final Polish. This combo would have been effective on your paint. Check out these videos to help you work that PC How to Video - Pinnacle XMT Intermediate Swirl Removal (http://paintcare-n-detailing.com/xmt_isr.html) and Detailing Video, How to use the Porter Cable 7424 7336 polisher (http://paintcare-n-detailing.com/pc_video.html)

I`m satisfied with the amount of correction I did though.

That`s great! Now you just have to finish the car! :D It looks good...just remember when you finish to post pics of the car in the sun.

Thanks guys. I`ll post up some newer pics as soon as me and my friend get together. He has a really nice DSLR that I used to take the first shots. I`ve recently finished my trunk as well as 1/2 my hood :waxing:. I`ll prolly finish the rest of the car within the next couple weeks depending on when I have time. Luckily its not as hard as I thought it would be :)

detaildoc, I`m planning to use that combo after my hood and trunk since they are the worst parts of my car. Those pics don`t really depict how bad it really is. I just wanted they were almost all the way gone so I decided the Yellow pad. In essence, I wasn`t even putting enough pressure for most of the passes so I doubt I really cut as much as the Yellow pad was advertised to do haha :p. The sides and bumpers will have to be really light anyway considering that I had one side repainted last year due to an accident. Thanks for the tip though, its good to know that I`m going in the right direction

And to mysteryan, I`m on CL as well. I decided to keep my username universal so people would recognize me haha. I`ve got this same thread in the Detailing section haha
