The wood trim in my BMW, which is coated by plastic, has heavy swirling. what can I use to mask or polish this out?

Thanks,

W.S.- I`d use a mild polish that you`d use on paint to at least improve things, then see if you could still benefit from a glaze/etc. Go a little easy as the finish on most interior wood is kinda soft. I dunno how thick it`ll be either...but I`ve never gone too far on any of my cars (but then I don`t always try for perfection either).

It`s sorta the same deal as with the clearcoat on the body of the car- you don`t want to overdo the correction and sometimes concealing is a better idea than correcting. Don`t go straight to some harsh compound, but I wouldn`t start out with something *super* mild either, no point in that unless you`re just doing a quickie job with something like VM.
