First things first, this is a shot I forgot to include with the last thread, just thought it was a cool picture.

===========

2001 Ford Windstar and 2006 Cadillac STS. Regular customer, he has me out a couple times a year. Just wanted a light polish and seal, even though the STS really needs more. He says his eyes aren`t good enough for him to notice the difference. Oh well. Anyway, the Windstar`s paint is suprisingly good so that was a plus. I ended up using Optimum Poli-Seal with a blue Soft Edge polishing pad @ 1200 rpm and buffed off with Optimum Car Wax v2. Armor All on the Windstar trim.

2002 Ford F-150. Another tar overspray removal job like the RX8 I posted last time.

Got tar? :nervous2:

http://www.autopia.org/gallery/data/500/2002_Ford_F150_nasty_clay1.jpg

It was a brand new SNOW WHITE bar when I started, this is how it looked when I finished.

http://www.autopia.org/gallery/data/500/2002_Ford_F150_nasty_clay2.jpg

Like the RX8, it was not a correction job, I was only getting paid to remove the overspray and reseal the paint. Like the Windstar and STS, OPS/blue @ 1200 rpm removed with OCW2.

2007 Lexus LS460L. Only 7500 or so miles on this car and it was in excellent condition...as you can see by this BEFORE shot:

http://www.autopia.org/gallery/data/500/2007_Lexus_LS460_silver_before.jpg

The right door has been polished with Poli-Seal, Soft Edge blue polishing pad via rotary @1000 rpm, left side untouched. As expected with such a good starting point, the improvement looks very minimal on film, although it was more noticable (mostly depth) in person.

http://www.autopia.org/gallery/data/500/2007_Lexus_LS460_silver_during.jpg

I buffed off OPS with OCW2 again, really killer combo on silver.

http://www.autopia.org/gallery/data/500/2007_Lexus_LS460_silver_after.jpg

No outside shots, it started raining and misting soon after I arrived and never really let up. Plus it was cold.

The halogens are also great for interiors. Took a before shot (after cleaning the carpet but not the leather or vinyl) but forgot an after shot. http://www.scottwax.com/rice/videos/smilies/pat.gif

You can see overall it was pretty clean though.

By using OCW after polishing must make these details a breeze

2002 Honda Accord. Her Dad gets her a gift certificate for Christmas-wish he`d get her one for her birthday too since this is a single stage white paint job. Pretty stupid decision by someone at Honda. Anyway, it had obviously been several months since I had last polished it and she said it hadn`t been washed since October. To top it off, her garage was a very tight fit and poorly lit meaning either the garage door had to stay open or I had to move it outside...and it was in the low to mid 30s with intermittent light flurries while I was working. http://www.scottwax.com/rice/videos/smilies/sad.gif

I started off with Meguiars #80 Speed Glaze using a yellow Meguiars polishing pad @ 1400 rpm. #80 does a great job on oxidized single stage paint but I was having some buffer hop issues due to the amount of dead paint quickly clogging the pad and the low temperatures. I then followed with 3M Ultrafina Swirl Eliminator and their blue egg crate foam Ultrafina finishing pad. Started off at 1200 rpm, bumped to 1800 for a couple passes, then back down to 1200 for a couple more. Really did a nice job adding clarity to the paint...and removed a touch of remaining dead paint as well. I then sealed the car with Meguiars #16. By then, the clouds had parted but it was after 5 PM so the temperatures were already dropping. Not my funnest day.

Yeah, I know. Not everyone saw the thread and it was from the F-150 job anyway.

2008 Mazda CX-7. Brand spanking new, the owner just wanted some protection on it. Applied Meguiars NXT2.0 by hand on it.

Just a couple quick shots (I`ve posted each before) of a 2007 Mercedes GL450 and 2004 Porsche Carrera I detail every 4-8 weeks, usually depending on the weather. Both had been recently polished so the exteriors got Optimum Opti-Seal followed an hour later with OCW v2. The trim on the GL was dressed with Ultima Tire and Trim.

Scott what did you use to remove the tar on the F150? I guess I`ll do a search hehe.

I LOVE the ls460L. That is hands down the luxury car I would get if I had the money. The backseat is so comfy compared to the A8, 7series and Sclass.

Real time saver, killer looks and decent durability. What more can one ask for?
