Well today I got burned by a G35. I couldn`t get this paint anywhere near what I should have. I felt...I feel so defeated and like I should find a new job. The only way I could get anything done was to use OP twice on every panel with an LC white 6.5 and the Flex. Anything else wouldn`t do anything or it would marr the finish even more. I don`t know what to say, here are the pics.

The pictures are kind of better than in person if you can believe that.

JoshVette, next time you are down we need to get together so I can learn the art of the ROTARY. Hopefully with that I can do way better work. Hell it might just be me and I should have been able to get it out with the Flex. I don`t know, whatever, today was a bad day.

That paint was trashed ... I see huge improvements in most of your photos.

it must look alot worst in person cause the after pics looking good to me. i know you said OP was strongest you could use without causing marring but remember most compounds will cause marring. that is why you follow up with a less aggressive polish to remove compund marks. also you should get some wool pads for those tough jobs. wool will cut quick. if it does not come out with wool then it is not gonna come out. and a rotary will help out alot. just respect the power of the machine

Agreed. I hate, hate, hate, hate polishing black G35s. Such a fine line between correction and haze.

Considering how horrible it was, I think you made a vast improvement.

Thanks for the comments.

Keep it clean- I tried using compound with a cutting pad and then tried compound with polishing pad and its not that it left marks(the cutting pad yes marked but didn`t help correcting), it just didn`t do anything at all. I didn`t understand why the polish was doing more than the compound. I was confused, tired, and quite frustrated all at the same time so I just stuck with what was "working". I might trying to order some wool pads. Will they work well with out a rotary?

Grouse-Thanks I might just have to do that some time.

Thanks again guys

Also you gotta work in the polish for a longer time in a G than for most cars.

When I got my G35 in `04 and posted my message here on this board, everything everybody suggested didn`t work. Also there wasn`t anybody that had a black G35 that could give a personal experience. What finally works for me now is Prima Swirl with a PC and LC white pad. Meguiar`s M66 with a rotary and black pad is wonderful as well. Also Menzerna 106F with white pad and PC. If I want to work fast LC orange pad with Swirl.I have a section of the vehicle that was repainted so my job is even more difficult than you can imagine, because the repainted paint is soooooooooooooo soft.

When I am done it is absolutely flawless. I have the car now almost 4 years, so you can imagine how much practice I have had to get it to where it is now.

I feel your pain. I`ve worked on mine, it seems forever. For such supposedly soft paint, it doesn`t correct very easy even though it marrs easily. I got fines lines reappearing and believe me I do everything by the book.
