A couple months ago I had the great experience of having my vehicle broken into/robbed for the first time. What a coincidence is that it happened when I moved to south FL :angry

Woke up one morning to find my driver door window smashed in and my head unit & iPod stolen, no big deal. The only thing that really sucked was when I got the truck back about 1.5 months later (had to locate a new dash as the thieves broke my original) and received it in a super swirled, hologramed, and paint over sprayed state. I could not believe how bad it was, the good news is that the holograms came off relatively easy. The deeper scratches seem to only be on the doors that have brand new paint, so at least I can afford the clear coat to take something aggressive to it and correct them.

I did not have the time or skill to take care of the deeper scratches so I only used a one step- white LC & FP I

Seems like the paint (except the doors that were painted, they were real bad) polished up easily due to the detail I received from Todd in July, refer to this thread

Like I said before, there were little (and big) spots of overspray all over the truck, thought I would try and attack an area after washing while the truck was wet...but did not seem very effective

An example of the kind of over spray that was on this thing, I do not have an after photo but I was able to remove 85-90% of it.

I love having the rears of my wheels clean, one of my favorite touches

Really nice job, but I hate you for being able to work at night in December without a shirt. :LOLOL

Absolutely stunning they could have your truck that long and return it to you with the paint in such piss-poor condition.

Don`t feel too bad, it`s -27 currently. :| Should see it go even lower by about 10-13 degrees before the end of winter...:(

Josh that looks amazing, congrats on your first C n` B. I cannot believe some jerks had the audacity to break into a car I polished :(. JK, that seriously stinks man, but thankfully you know how to turn it around!

Merry Christmas!

Nice work Josh! I didn`t think Leo got that much overspray on your truck. What a hack. :bat I wish I could have adjusted your claim. Things would have come out much better. :secret :Paypal:

BTW, I found a self-serve / coin-operated car wash in Delray Beach on US-1 (Federal Hwy) between George Bush & Gulstream (on the west side).

Is that ambient, or does -27 include wind chill?

Damn dude, I`m sorry :scared:

Thanks Scott! Yeah it is typical of a body shop to take the quality of your finish a few steps back, but this was a little worse than other shops ive had experience with. Yes it sure is nice being able to work at night :2thumbs:

Thanks Todd! it looks a hell of a lot better now, before the truck was just a big hologram. But theres still more work to do, much more over spray to chase after...and the doors are still super scratched up. but it feels good to finally post a C n B :grinno:

haha, the pic with the dash all messed up was the day of the robbery...I actually have a new dash now.

Thanks David! Tell me about it! I just couldnt stand the swirls and holograms any longer. I WISH I thought that you were even an adjustor after it had happened. and now I dont even think I`m gonna take the truck back there to get the driver jam re painted even though Leo was gonna pay for it. I just know hes gonna get over spray in my interior let alone more exterior spray. I just want it done right, even if I have to pay for it  so let me know what you think I should do. Also, after looking again at Todd`s Click and Brag he did on my truck in July, theres a picture of that same driver door jam and it clearly shows none of the scratches that are there now (even though I already knew so)

Nice, ill go see if I can find it

How about that first C n B? I cant believe you made it through the night finishing the polishing. 3 in the morning was good enough for me! We will definitely need to do a project on the Magnum and CnB it. But, the truck came out great for the amount of polishing that was done. Didn`t think those holograms and overspray would come up as easy as it did. Hopefully when you get your jambs and door repainted you won`t run into this again :hairpull

amen

but if you drive by my house and you see the garage door open JUST a tad, it`s because I need the foam and the water to drain outside :)

Haha, although I`m not from SK, I say it`s dangerous to polish in the cold and must have some way to at least bring the temp of the panels to about 10 degrees, because liquids will not wipe off cleanly.

Nice Josh, we`ll have to try Souveran on it when I get back.
