My race car was caught on fire about 2 months ago by fabricators, and everything firewall back was completely destroyed. My brand new motor which I built (was completely spotless) is now covered in a dark soot in which hardly wipes off. Are there any chemicals that I can use to remove soot? Do not care if it removes powdercoat, paint, etc. as it will all have to be done all over again, just looking for a pretty harsh chemical to remove it. Any info would be great. Thanks.
