I`m going to be show prepping a truck, and I need a suggestion on product. The color is PPG Copperhead. It`s an orange metallic, similar to the new Vette color. I really want to make it pop, with a warm glow as well.

I have Natty`s red, S100, all of the clearkote line, all of the Optimum line, 845IW, PB EX, DP Max Wax, and JW AJT and Prime.

My thoughts are either OP topped with S100 or full clearkote, RMG, VM, topped with CM.

here are a few examples of close colors. They could be the same as the truck I`m doing, but you know how pictures go.

Not quite this much metallic in the truck, but close on color.

Yeah, my buddy painted half of his mustang that exact color and the other half black... It`s split in the middle with a design, he`s quite a custom painter... I polished it with SIP, then ZAIO, and finished with Z-2 and Z-5...

It looks excellent!!!

Out of the products that you have listed, I would either go with RMG and RMG or Prime and AJT...

I like 845iw, but don`t know how well I would like it on that color...

When I do it again, it will be DWG topped with either Souveran or 50/50...

yeah, i`m kinda worried that 845IW would mute the flake a bit. I know JW works great on silver metallic, but not sure about it on a rich color like this.

I put JW on my WRX, pic in my avatar and it looked excellent.... I topped that with 845 and it did mute the flake a bit... It only has 845 on it because of winter though.

Opti-Seal would work great, so would Werkstatt. Oddly enough, Carnauba Moose is a great carnauba to use on metallics.

I don`t think jw would give you the warm glow you`re looking for. unless you wanted to top with with s100.

I would use the OP polishes no glaze EX then RED...

My baja is the two tone silver grey and i know red makes mine pop..

BUT the biggest pop i get... is PWC blue and natty`s blue.. that is the killer combo i have on my car all summer long.

no glaze? I`m gonna guess that it may not enhance the flake? I know we use it to add shine and wetness to a "flat" (non-metallic) paint, so would that cause any muting?

I`ve never used a glaze on a matalic car I`ve used it on blacks and red.. to give more wetness like you said but never on the Subaru... maybe other could chime in..

You could always try one pannel with it to see how you like it.

RMG would will enhance the flake on the car, i would say get that in the mix if you can. If you use Menzerna or similar and work it to a really reinfed finish why not go for RMG + Optiseal! Im not sure how long it would last but it would give some protection while not muting any any nuba at all.

Why RMG Will make the flake pop

I would use Pink Moose, Natty`s, RMG

all after good prep

the last layer of RMG will not last long at all

but it will make it look great wile it on there and you sayed it was show prep so there you go

I`d use Men. Polish PO85RD, RMG Red Moose Glaze, Then Pin. Souveran X 2 Thats was my combo before I got Zymol Vintage. The Souveran should look great!!!
