I just saw this posted on the red letter dodge site this morning! Looks like the price for the Challenger is set at $37,995.... and best of all it has a V8!

Good luck finding it at that price when it comes out. Look to spend and extra 10-20k easily in dealer mark up.

We`ll have to wait to see about that. I`m sure it won`t really be marked up. I mean they start accepting orders on December 3rd, so prices can`t really be tampered.

They will be marked up the same way the Ford Mustang Shelby was marked up 15k when it came out. The Challenger is also being released in limited numbers (thank you Chrysler!) so there will be even more incentive to mark it up. Its not going to be pretty.

I guarantee you will see most dealers asking something in the range of $49,990 if not more...

I saw the concept car in person yesterday at the New England Auto Show. I couldn`t decide if I liked that Camaro or the Challenger better. Both had some things I would like to see changed before production. For example, I hated the pointy front end and rear view mirrors on the Camaro.

Mike, the mirrors will be tamed down before coming to market. The Camaro might have a problem being a little late to the party though. The LA Auto Show info says summer 2009.

I guess it would make sense to mark it up since the supply is limited. I still think its a pretty cool car thought. I think it looks a lot like the old Challenger, with a little bit of a modern look.

I`d love to own one.. but that`s a pretty high price for me.. even without the markups. I think a nice used mustang GT two years old for $20k is more for me.

The price just seems really up there to me for a Challenger. I think the content of the car is great though and it is in limited numbers so maybe they are right on with the price.

I`ve been seeing that they`re producing 5,000 in `08.

I was looking at some pics the other day, and out of the three colors they`re producing (black, silver, orange) I`m favoring the orange. Black looks pretty slick too.

I just saw that they release some photos of the production model but, they don`t show the whole car. I`m hoping they release some interior pics sometime soon...
