Hmm, I recently did a full detail on my Jeep, about a week ago. It has 2 coats of UPP on it. It has some patchs where it looks oily, im guessing the humidity when I was applying UPP. I have a question, can I safely quick detail with Meguiars Finial Detail when the car is dusty ? It has not been driven or outside of my garage for a week, but since the garage is open etc... it gets dusty I don`t want to induce swirls. So I am asking if it is safe to do so. I don`t want to re-wash the car as I have everything dressing and all.

It depends how dusty it is. My rule is that if im not sure if its to dusty to qd.. then I will waterless wash. If you have poorboys S+W then I would use that.

Hmm, you could be right, unfortunetly I don`t have a waterless wash. I wish I did for stuff like this, the dust is not to bad, but its visible.

I don`t want to ruin all that hardwork I did with the makita :headbang now with inducing swirls.

well I cant guarentee it would be safe but If its just lightly dusty then you should be fine. Call the RX hotline at 1-800-347-5700. They will definatly be able to answer this question.

Why not try the FD on just one small area to see how it does. Maybe one fender. No swirls, continue. Swirls, stop and order some S&W. :D

I would hit it with a car duster first then the QD.

I agree with Charles, Do a small area first if it good then continue on.

hey. if its just moderate dust from regular air flow thru u`re garage then try this. its a lil tip i use.

mist the car with some spray and wipe. 2 mist per panel and do this around the whole car. let it set for 30 seconds and start all over on the first panel u had hit. hit it with a qd over the mist of spray and wipe u had applied and wipe. boom. easy time saver. dont worry about letting the spray and wipe dry.

i do that so that i can let the spray and wipe emulsify the dust and soften it up, then use a regular qd with good cleaning abilities (adams ds) and wipe. beats having the do two seperate wipe sessions on the car.

side note: this is only for cars with dust, not dirt, grime, ect. just regular pollen, garage dust, or dust bunnies.
