Hi, this weekend I will be detailing a Boxster S. Im concerned about washing with the convertible top. Do I wash it as if it were paint? Do I use a dog-hair roller instead on the fabric? I have plastic polishes, and Im not worried about that, just mainly the fabric. THANKS!

use a vac on the top and a clothes brush after you have blotted water off of the top when you are drying the rest of the car. do not wash the top as you would paint even though you would not harm the fabric. use Ragg Topp for a complete (usually annually) clean-up and water repelling dressing of the top. this is what i did for my Z4 and worked well.

I wash convertible tops just like I do the rest of the car. If you`re using a power washer I wouldn`t aim it at the top, however. Just hose down the top and condition it with something like 303 protectant and you`re good.
