This is a 2008 DENALI with about 4K on the clock—customer had it “buffed” in Atlanta($69-LOL). The shop delivered the car in the shade, the customer later saw the holograms under the Wal-Mart parking lot lighting. When he returned to the shop the next day, they denied any wrong doing (LOL).

This gentleman tried four other shops in town—no one would touch it.

This correction took 14 hours on the paint alone—it was quite a challenge!

I used 3M SRC polish with a yellow Meguiars polishing pad @1700 RPM’s (this paint is soft!)

PO160FF via rotary and black CCS pad @1400 RPM’s

Sealed with opti-seal

These are the most satisfying recoveries for me, the customer thought that he was going to have to repaint the truck—he wanted to hug me when he picked it up!

I should also add that the time might seem a bit off because a two-step process shouldn`t take that long. The problem was that I had to *really* focus my efforts and use the least aggressive product as the paint was *thin*! I also had to use a variety of spot pads to buff smaller areas such as the roof, door pilars, etc.

I am sure the owner of the Denali learned a lesson here...

"the bitterness of a poor quality detailing job remains long after the sweetness of a low price"... :hairpull :wall

Nice turnaround! :2thumbs:

WOW x 100! This thread should be a sticky so I can show potential customers what could happen if they "go cheap" and get this type of work.

Super Recovery!

Sticky in the Pro section if you ask me. I`d love to link this to potential clients who find $160 exterior buff job, too expensive!

Great job!! I bought a black 2007 LaCrosse with 9K miles on it and it looked the same as that Denali. I got a great deal for that reason. I have worked on it a bit, but come spring it will get the full monty. Hope I can do half the job you did!

Awesome fix Joe!

It really makes you stand out when clients need to come to you to correct other shops mistakes.
