What is the difference between a finishing polish and a scratch remover like Mothers?

I believe a finishing polish is much milder and will provide the majority of the look that will be visible when the process is done.

Some finishing polishes can remove scratches with the right buffing pad. I`m not sure what Mother`s can do.

Mothers Scratch Remover is intended to be applied by hand. It has a specific work time (less than 30 seconds in my opinion) but intended for mutiple tries -- slow but sure. Under higher pressure (like with any polisher or high hand pressure (passion)), it breaks down too quickly. I asked Mothers and they tell me light pressure, lots of action. If you want to apply by machine use a machine polish.
