I bought my new house back in december of 06. Its my first house and I love it! It sat for about a year becuase the guy that had it built passed away during construction. Anyways, I started finishing it up last winter in feb maybe. Ill post some pics of some of the work. You guys will have to wait for the finished pics until I get home from work. The garage itself is almost done. I just need to get a wall mounted vac put in, a toolbox, and I need some flourescent lighting and a cabinet put up on the wall and for the most part be finished.

On to the pics!

Looking good.. Congrats on the purchase.

For future reference, you should always offset your joints when hanging sheetrock.. Ties everything together better, and also much easier to hide the joints when finished..

Basically, on your butt joints (where the 2 boards meet together on the 4` side), you don`t want a straight line to go all the way up to the ceiling, as it will be much harder to hide when you go to finish it. Not really a big deal in the garage, especially since its not finished and painted anyways. Ideally (in this situation) on the top row, you would have a joint at 4` and 12`, and on the bottom row, just the one joint at 8` thats currently there.. (or vice versa)

But again, just more of an FYI for future reference. It`s not going to fall off the wall or anything :D

Looks good. The only thing I would have done different was run more wall outlets before you drywall. At least a few 110 outlets and maybe a 220 for a future welder or something bigger..The finished garage look so much better than the unfinished..Great work, time to mud and paint..

Looks like a nice garage and nice house! I have seen the same user name on a different forum. Have you been on any of the W-body related forums by chance?

My house is just finishing . I hope to move into it next 2 weeks . My garage is looking nice so far . I put some lighting but I have the feeling it was not enough . So I got a bulb from public Street lighting that I will hang from the ceiling :chuckle: .I hope that will be enough .

Congrats on the garage looks really nice .
