I`ve seen a lot of posts comparing KAIO with ZAIO, or Poli-Seal, etc. But, what about DG 101 Vs. KAIO? I only have experience with DG 101 as an AIO type product. Is KAIO much better, stronger, etc.? Would I benefit by ordering it (& paying for shipping) vs. running down to Carquest to buy more 101?

I have yet to place a mail order -- as I can`t justify shipping costs for a few products at a time (since I can buy decent products locally). I`m just a weekend warrior -- with daily $20K drivers.

I would say they are close to each other. I use KAIO only because I have a bit of overstock but have tried 101 and like them both the same.

KAIO is more of a cleaner than a sealer. DG 101 is more of a sealer than a cleaner.

KAIO is more of a cleaner than a sealer. DG 101 is more of a sealer than a cleaner. Im assuming tho, the 101 has more cleaner in it then 105, which is also touted as an aio, but is a very very weak cleaner.

Does 101 have any abrasives?

101 is a good cleaner..and also has micro abrasives...the 501 Marine is the strongest cleaner /sealant they offer....way more cleaning than klasse..but with protection very close to 105 as told by DG....501 is paint safe also...not just for gel coats...you will be amazed how good it cleans paint and the end results....it also has a salt inhibitor in it for corrosion....plus also has micro abrasives...will do minor correction with right pad....I use a white CCS pad for light marring works fine....

I use 501 instead of 101 now and top with 105..very nice results....more bang for the buck....its a 16oz bottle ....

ALThe reason I ask is that I use AIO for plastics and trim. I never use an AIO product on the paint, so I don`t need/want any aio with abrasives. I guess 101 won`t work if it has micro-abrasives.

Does 501 have micro abrasives, or is it all chemical cleaner?

Why exactly are you worried about the abrasives? To be honest, the abrasives are not nearly strong enough to remove any significant amount of clearcoat..

I`d use something non abrasive on plastic. I`m not sure about whether DG501 or 101 stains plastic.

I just picked up some 101 today and have always used KAIO in the past.

My plan is to wash, clay, 101, and use either Nattys (Since I have a new stash), or AW until I can`t handwash anymore (due to cold weather).

Thanks for the tips. Sounds like my next venture will be the DG 501. Can 501 be used on everything: glass, rubber, plastic -- like the 101?

I did a wash, clay, 101, and AW on my wifes car and it looked good. However it doesn`t really take care of any swirls or scratches. I`m looking for something to add to my process that can do that. I do everything by hand for now so I`m looking for something that is more of a filler than correcting.

I`m in the same boat as you. I do everything by hand and come spring i`d like to get rid of some of the minor swirls I have. My car is pretty new so the paint is in great shape (except for the swirls they put in the paint while the car was a demo - 1800 miles).

I use 101...501 and 105 on plastics...and never stained ....I clean window rubbers also....I work it in plastics and rubber and wipe off right after...I use on smooth plastics and textured ...its a wipe on wipe off process....

Dg products don`t stain as in turn your plastics white but they will leave behind a "film" if you don`t wipe it off. The effect is something like drawing on a dirty car with your finger...
