Does anyone recommend products and procedures to remove light swirling from wood trim? I have a few trim pieces from a Mercedes that I`d like to buff out the swirls before I sell them.

I thought I read somewhere that you might not be able to remove them but you can fill them by using pledge.

I think Old Engish makes a product for that

I think interior wood trim is clear coated isn`t it? Would those wood scratch removers work?

I use mild (regular) polishes on interior wood quite often, it works well for me. Just be careful that you don`t get too aggressive about it. The clear is usually sorta soft and sometimes it`s very thin.

You might start with something barely abrasive like VM or AIO and work up from there. I like 1z Metallic Polish for this, and I`ve gone as aggressive as the old 3M PI-III MG 05937. I`d rather not get more aggressive than that, and I`m always prepared to just live with the marring.

Mercedes apply what looks like enamel coating on the wood, and its a fairly thick and durable finish, but best to be as mild as possible.

haha, i was just going to start a similar thread. The swirls in the trim on my dads 01 C240 are horrible, and Plastx did nothing to help.

Will OC or OP applied by hand do anything?
