I finally finished up my customer`s car that I started this past Saturday. As luck would have it, my camera battery died after one shot of the top, so I wasn`t able to get anymore "before" pics of the interior. I did have my charger with me, and got some juice back to take some pictures of the aftermath.

Here is the staining that occured on each rear corner of the vinyl top:

I used an old trick that my father taught me on white vinyl that he used to use on his boats. I know some of you might cringe, but the best thing for removing any UV or mildew stains from white vinyl is Soft Scrub. Use only a little, and don`t get too aggressive with it. But with a little patience and continued scrubbing, it will come out...almost completely. Here is the after of that same corner:

For the interior process, I did the following:

-Blew out the entire interior to loosen up any dirt in hard to reach places.

-Vacuumed full interior

-Shampooed door panels using CG Fabric Clean and DK Pink Stuff with a soft bristle brush. I stayed away from any electrical components to avoid damage.

-Wiped down door panels with MF towel. Vacuumed any residual water with the shop vac.

-Wipe down dash and all interior vinyl/rubber with DK Pink Stuff and MF towel.

-Shampooed carpet with CG Fabric Clean and medium bristle brush. Vacuumed up with shop vac.

-Cleaned/Conditioned leather with Lexol.

-Dressed all interior vinyl with CG V.R.P. dressing

-Windows cleaned with Stoner`s Invisible Glass (spray foam)

-Tires dressed with Megs Hot Shine Tire Coating

Here are a few of the after shots.

I miss cars being made like that. Just look at the detail.

I am wondering if the sinclair signs are from the book "the last open road"?

The bleach in soft scrub helped remove the brown stains you had to deal with on that white vinyl rear trim section.......It`s an abrasive process but, it works.....

Excellent job on that Lincoln btw.......:xyxthumbs

Those seats look great, my father in law drove Lincolns for years. That one still looks fantastic.....

Thanks for the kudos guys. I think my techniques are getting better with each detail, and I`m also using a bit more attention when doing them. I can`t take all of the credit on this one. Even though the car was pretty dirty and oxidized, it is the original craftsmanship that held this car up for almost 30 years.

And the interior is by far the most comfortable I have seen yet. I wished they offered that leather in today`s automobiles.
