I have a G35 and the headlights haze every month. I polish out the hazing yet it keeps coming back. What products would prevent the hazing from returning? You would think a product with UV protection right? I`ve used Zaino (Z2 & Z5 Pro, with Z8 applied after almost every wash), OCW, Aquawax, and I`m sure a few others but the hazing always comes back (and it looks horrible on a nice black car). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

every month?...wow

what process are you using to polish them?

Yea they start hazing up in about a month, and just keep getting progressively worse if they`re not polished out. I just hit them with a polish (Menz 106ff, OP, even KAIO) and the DA polisher with a soft pad (lt green PS2 Excel pad if I remember correctly). They always polish out nice and clear but begin hazing up again very quickly (quicker than I`d like). I remember reading this was common on the G35 headlights.

That is indeed VERY strange. At first, I thought maybe you were doing what I always read on non-autopian forums... "oh, I just throw a glaze on it and it cleans up it, until it rains lolzomgwtf" or whatever.

But it appears you are actually polishing them. Hmm. Maybe try polishing them then putting those clear overlays on them? Like the RockBlocker type product.

Yes they polish right out clear in maybe 5-10 mins a piece. No glaze on the headlight yet...LOL. :)

Do you have a link to the clear overlays you are referring to?

You could try spraying an actual UV protection clear coat on the lenses. Like the clear coat you could spray over paint. Wetsanding between each coat will get the optical clarity really good. Should protect better than a sealant or wax.

It`s a 2003 G35. I`ve read and seen other G`s with the same headlight hazing. It always starts at the one month mark (or close) and gets progressively worse (by 5-6 months they are hazed pretty bad in my opinion). It`s a pity on such a nice car too.

Wasn`t there some sort of recall on the 06 headlights? I can`t remember what the problem was, but a friend of mine put them on his 05 and hasn`t had any problems. You should be able to find a set of 06 lights pretty cheap.. just another option.

This is just a thought, but try going deeper with the polish. Compound out with an orange or yellow pad and optimum hyper compound or comprable, then work back up to P0106FF.

Thanks themightytimmah- I`ll give that a shot! I would prefer to polish (or compound) it out versus replacing the lights. Thanks for everyone`s suggestions!

I bet an application of Plexus every week or so will solve your problem.

I have Plexus so I could try that as well. I did "think" a good sealant with UV protection would be better than Plexus though. Thanks, I`ll give it a shot!

On my G35. I used plastix and a orange pad on the Pc. Took out the haze liek nothing. AFter that I put on a coat of S100. Lights haven`t hazed up on me since I have done that.
