I just ordered a Hitachi SP18VA rotary polisher. Many are on back order. Is this polisher any good?A 5 year warrenty is great but not if you must send it back for repair.I don`t like the idea of these polishers being made in China by another company for Hitachi.I have a Milwaukee 5540(heavy) and a Porter Cable 7424.Thanks Joe :waxing

I assume you haven`t researched on that polisher here as you would realize it is very highly regarded. So no worries, you picked very well.

i have read alot of good things about this polisher. it is light weight has a slow start to prevent slinging and is over all a good polisher

Yeah I think I might pick up one here soon and sell my PC 7428 to the kid across the street.

Are you confusing Hitachi with Metabo PE12-175?

Beacause lightness and slow start are what people usually praise when talking about Metabo.

Metabo does have slow start, very nice and smooth one. SpoiledMan has been a long time Hitachi owner. He recently got Metabo.

thats cool. but not all of us have the money for the metabo. hitachi is 1/2 the price and comes with alot of same features.

you made a wise choice, and you can`t go wrong with all the reputable brands (makita, dewalt, metabo, etc) as they are ALL quality machines...

I just hope you didn`t order it from OCD Garage cause you`ll probably never receive it.

Ummm, I might be missing something but last time I checked prices Hitachi was $175-ish and Metabo was less than $100 more.

In any case, anybody wants to buy my almost brand new Metabo for $220 plus actual shipping?

I have the Hitachi, it`s a nice machine... I`ve only had it for a few months, but I have had zero problems and I have zero complaints!
