Near the start of last month I purchased a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 60th Anniversary addition, fully loaded, 4.7ltr V8 and coated in Silverstone paintwork (one of 2,001 built). The truck has only covered 37k miles so it wasn`t overly bad but nowhere near my standards anyway!

The dealer got a `valet` carried out on it but lets just it wasn`t a good one! The exterior wasn`t to bad, no scratches or dents just the usual swirling.

The interior though, now that was a different story. The seats needed cleaned 3 times with AG Leather cleaner to remove the soiling and just needed a good vaccum really.

I don`t have many good before shots and I`m pretty annoyed I never took any from the interior! :wall

Process:

Wash: Rinse, wash with TBM Zanio Z7, rinse. Sonus MF Mitt.

Wheel Arches cleaned with APC 10:1

Clay: Meg`s Quik Clay and Meg`s Last Touch

Wash again : Z7.

Polishing:

Bonnet was deswirled with PC and SFX 2 pad and Menzerna Intensive Polish 3.01. :waxing:

The rest was simply treaded to AG Super Resin Polish and Extra Gloss Protection x2. I will be deswirling the entire truck next spring but with Winter coming up there may be a lazy wash or two carried out on it.

Engine Bay:

Cleaning: AG Engine & Machine Cleaner, APC, Meg`s Interior Carpet Cleaner (for fabric on hood) loads of brushes and a spounge.

Dressing: Chemical Guy`s New Look Trim Gel, Meg`s Metal Restorer, Niesen`s Silicon-Free Dressing in a aerosol form. Paintwork was protected with AG SRP.

Door arches: Cleaned with AG Engine & Machine cleaner, protected with AG SRP.

Trim and tyres: Chemical Guy`s New Look Trim Gel.

Wheel arches: Sonus Trim and Motor Kote.

Wheels: AG Super Resin Polish and Extra Gloss Protection

Glass Work: AG Car Glass Polish & RainX on exterior glass.

Interior: AG Leather cleaner then Leather Conditioner, APC 25:1 on plastics, Leather Conditioner on vynal & plastics. Meg`s Interior Shampoo for carpets. Chemical Guy`s Leather scent air freshner.

So that sums up about 16 hours of detailing spent on my new truck, just waiting for Spring to come so I can polish out the swirls and then give it some Zanio lovin’. In the mean time I’m having fun with the truck!

Thanks for reading, all comments appreciated - good or bad! :)

Looks very crisp and clean. It must cost a fortune to drive in the UK though!?

Thanks for the kind words!

Yeah it is a bit heavy on the gas but it is funny showing up some boy racers at the lights in a Jeep! :grinno:
