Today I had the pleasure of polishing 1960 Chevy for a friend of ours. But I ended up getting to close to a sharp edge and put a cut in the face of my polishing pad that I was using. The cut isn`t very deep but it is at an angle and causes that portion of the pad face to peel back when you rub your hand across it. The big question, does this make the pad unsafe for further use, or doesn`t this matter since this is very shallow and not even close to the backing pad?

Do I toss it out or keep using it?

Thanks:)

Continue using it with no worries.

Use it.

Hmmm, a 60 Chevy? That brings back a few memories. Get any pictures?

Unfortunately no pics, camera was forgotten,:wall . It did turn out pretty good. I didn`t go for perfection, that car was last painted 22 years ago and I wanted to be careful. So we got it to about 85% and called it good. Better safe than sorry.
