Question on chrome rims?

My son is leaveing for Afghanistan on the 28th of September for one year. He just bought a new set of chrome rims for his car. The car will be stored the whole time and my question is what can I

coat the rims with to keep them in good shape?

A good coat of wax should keep them nice and safe. I personaly would use butterwax. But then again I tend to use stuff 99% of people on this board never seem to have ever heard of.

Yep, clean `em up and apply some long-lasting LSP. Keep the storage environment dry.
