This took me 4 days but I took a lot of breaks as I wore myself out on this one.

This is my personal ride, my detailing rigg 04 F150 Xtended cab, 6.5` bed of nothing but swirls and scratches. I bought this truck used back in January and did this correction about 3 months ago.

I did everything from filling in paint chips all over the front end, to wet sanding multiple scratches on every panel of the truck and of course removing swirls on every square inch including the roof.:chuckle: :waxing:

I will not post every single pic I have of the process, just the basics.

Sit down, grab some pop corn and enjoy the show.

Process: too long to list everything.

The usual wash, claybar, rotary with white pad and Menzerna IP X 2 passes in some cases more passes. Wet sanded scratches and followed up with PC. Followed up with the PC and Menzerna IP then two coats of Zaino Z5 to top it all off.

First for the paint chips on the front end.

Some of the pics are tough since the camera had a hard time focusing on the bumper and not the reflections...

before, below the fog light chips

after, fog light paint chips filled in and buffed down

This is after one pass with Makita Rotary, LC White Pad, Menzerna IP @ 1500, still some swirls left over.

After a second pass with the same set up, it`s perfect.

oopps, accidently copied the same pic twice, I`ve now corrected it....:har:

Many more pics to come, and after pics in the sun.

This will be the shiniest, most deep, wet and glossy reflective F150 you`ll ever see.:woot:

here`s some of the rear door on the drivers side, you can already see a difference between it and the bed panel.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y148/Joshvette/Detailing/My%2004%20F150%20Fully%20Detailed/DSC07478.jpg

after two passes

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y148/Joshvette/Detailing/My%2004%20F150%20Fully%20Detailed/DSC07481.jpg

Of course there was much more that took place then those few sanding marks and chips on the front, but I think by now you get the idea of what the entire vehicle condition was like.

Now onto the glamour shots outside in the sun with a little cloud cover.

I put these headlight in, they are aftermarket and look freakin good too. IMO:D

This is where a key mark was, you can still see a slight reminent of it after wet sanding and buffing.

Next are some pics, literally 3 months later in the rain. Beading like crazy after over an hour of raining with only 2 coats of Zaino Z5.

Nice to see Zaino does what it says it does. This is why I use it.

Josh, Excellent correction on the large amount of red paint. What a shine! Its nice to have your rig all polished when you arrive at a clients place for a detail. Really shows your level of professionalism.

Thanks for posting!

Very nice work. I am amazed at the chip repair! Ever thought about putting some clear bra type products on there now to keep it that way?

The lights with the black grill are totally transform that truck. Wow...

Now on to your work. Awesome, you really brought that around and its nice to some of your other skills (which are amazing as well). Loved the right up, knowing a quality detailer was pulling out the stops on his baby.

Great thread, great pictures, great truck, great write up... you get the idea

Thanks Josh

That`s some really good work! Red looks SOOO good when it`s taken care of properly. Those headlights are bad@$$! It really makes your truck stand out from the rest of the crowd. When I first saw it and before reading that they were aftermarket, I was thinking in my head "wow, I never knew Ford came with such nice projector headlight housings from the factory."
