This weekend I detailed my wife`s Honda using some new products that I recently purchased.

I used 303 Aerospace Protectant on the interior vinyl and plastic. Where I got some on the dial cluster plastic it seemed to turn the plastic foggy. I tried to remove it but it was still foggy. I applied it with a dedicated MF towel, wipe on wipe off.

What`s up with this? Isn`t this stuff supposed to be good for clear plastic?

Thanks,

K

303 Aerospace Protectant is generally useful on vinyl/rubber surfaces. It can also be used on plastics, but clear plastic on a dashboard is one area I would avoid. Use a dedicated clear plastic cleaner instead. Depending upon the particular material involved, you may also be able to use a glass cleaner, QD spray, or even just a water dampened MF towel to clean that area.

Some use products like Plexus or Novus #1 for clear plastics.

I Only use window cleaner and a bug spunge if needed. Its not good to put a dressing on that peice.

It did the same thing to the clear plastic on my instrument panel using 303. I "removed` the fogging by wiping the clear plastic with a cloth sprayed with WD 40.

Looks great for now. I`ll see what happens when the WD 40 evaporates.

That is strange. 303 recommends using Aerospace Protectant on clear plastic like convertible top windows and headlights.
