Sunday I detailed this gorgeous Ducati Monster 620ie. The owner had not washed it in quite some time. It had dirt, grime, and bugs everywhere. It also had quite a bit of swirls.

Process:

Wheels - A2Z and WB on stubborn spots

Frame/engine - Long Haul degreaser and Purple Power

Paint - Megs Tech wash

Dry with WW and used my vac on the blow cycle

Nvr Dull on metal, including screw heads

Paint polished with SIP and 4" orange LC @6

Plastic received 303 to protect

Gauge cluster - Megs Scratch-X by hand to clean up some scratches

LSP paint - OCW

LSP frame - AW

LSP chain - Dupont Multi-use lube

Thanks!

The naked bikes are much easier than my CBR. But, the engine casings are usually worse on the naked bikes.

I agree with Pat - that is one gorgeous bike and I bet a blast to ride. Nice "recondition" my friend.

Looks like you were very meticulous, nice work indeed. Excellent attention to detail on calipers, swingarm, wheels, etc.

Better than showroom. :goodjob

Thanks Thomas! How have you been?

grease: Thanks. I will be seeing the owner later this week and will try and get an audio clip for ya. It sounds nice when you open it up. :woot:

Pats300zx: Thanks Pat. I should have a Monster S4r to do soon.

Puckman: Thank you. The pics didn`t do the color change of the paint justice. I was impressed. I have not rode this bike, but my friend is riding it while the owner is out of town and he said it is a ton of fun. He normally rides a sportbike too.

smprince1: It took a long time but I feel it paid off. I wanted the bike to look better than new. The owner has not seen it yet. I can`t wait to see what she thinks. :grinno:

Owner has GOT to be pleased .... if not then I suppose some people are never satisfied. I ride a bike and I know how tough they are to clean.

Looks like you did a great job.

I know she will be very happy with it. I am excited to see how she reacts. :)

Now I need to find time to clean my own. I keep getting stuck in rain so it is nasty. :grrr

Ahhhh.... sounds like maybe you had an alterior motive to do an extra special good job :chuckle: ..... I hope she is very "appreciative".
