I will need to make this decision within the next couple of hours before the AG deal ends, but can anyone offer some advice on a backing plate for the 4 inch pads?

I`ve made up my mind that I do not want the one that comes in the kit:

So my choice is between the Lake Country 3.5" DA backing plate:

or

3.75" LC Rotary bp along with adapters for use on PC/drill too:

I probably will be using it most on the PC but the rotary bp seems a bit more versatile since I can use a PC or drill adapter with it, where as the first choice limits its use to just a PC.

I`m trying to save myself from buying a bp for both PC and rotary, so what are the pros/cons? Would the extra 1/4" difference play a huge role in its use with a 4 inch pad?

i would consider the 3.5 backing plate for the PC as it works great to apply lsp`s, and also to do spot correction. i bought my backing plate from patrick at exceldetail...

Only one I have used is the Lake Country 3.5" DA backing plate with my PC and some 4" CCS pads. Works great for paint correction with the PC.
