I picked up a bottle of the 105, a bottle of 601 and 2 bottles of the Aqua Wax. I put a coat of the 601 on after claying. The bottle says not to remove the haze. There was no haze to remove. I waited 30 min and then put a coat of the 105 on. I waited an hour before removing with a MF. The shine looked good but not much different than the NXT I had been using. I talked to one of the owners of Brothers. Jerry told me to just wait overnight. He said to call him in the morning with the results. Yesterday the shine was much brighter. I planned on putting another coat of the 105 on before applying the AW. I called Jerry and told him the results of the first coat. I told him I was planning on a 2nd application of the 105. Jerry suggested applying a 2nd coat of the 601 prior to 105. I asked if it would remove the prior coat. He said no way it will make the shine brighter and more durable. I waited a full 24 hrs and applied a 2nd coat of both products. This morning I couldn`t believe how much brighter the finish was. The depth was amazing. I plan on putting the AW on tonight. I am not a professional detailer and don`t claim to be an expert. I have used just about every otc product available over the last 35 years. I can truthfully say I have never had a product produce a finish like Duragloss. The price is great also. I found it at a local Carquest. Napa also is supposed to carry DG products. When I stopped at a local NAPA, their catalog didn`t list the 105. I know you can also order directly from the manufacturer.

I have also come to love the Duragloss line! The 601/105/AW combo is Fantastic! Will have to try the second application, see how it looks.......

I am using this combo,#101,#601 and #105.I realise not much of shine from #105 initiallyy when I remove it off with cloth.Bill told me #105 takes time to cure.Indeed,on the following, the shine was like `wow`,same goes to AW,there is some curing time for it.

hmm...that`s pretty interesting. I would never have thought to put a second coat of 601 on prior to a second coat of 105. I know they call it a bonding agent, but I always just thought it was more a mild cleaner.

a couple pics would be great..

I was planning on posting pics. However I see that I have to post 10 times before being allowed to post pics.

The DG 601 bottle says to top with 101 or 111 , maybe an old label before 105 came out.

I don`t know how many use 101 or 111 since the 105 came out . 111 was orig. the final step ( with add`l AW of course )

Anyone use 101 ? seems like 105 would do the trick

seems like 111 brings a brighter less muted effect than 105.

On my personal vehicle its the perfect look I`ve been searching for.

I used 101 instead of megs cleaner wax last week (descriptions were somewhat similar?), and topped with megs 26 since my local carquests don`t have 105 and won`t order it for me (ended up getting from excel detail)

The look is nice, but I don`t have much experience in these matters yet.

Say cheese. DG #652, then 111, then AW, then 111, then 111, then AW:

Holy cow! just what do you accomplish with all that?

I polish and slap on a coat of #111 or UPP, and call it a day!

Some background first: about 4 months ago I went over my wife`s van with Mernerna Final Polish II and FMJ with my PC. Had a really nice finish but the FMJ just didn`t last (the van sits outside and isn`t washed much). Slickness went away pretty quickly.

I wanted to try #105 and felt as though I wanted to use a chemical cleaner first. I realize there are some ambiguities w/ the Duragloss line about which is the sealant and which has more cleaners (101 vs 111 vs 105) but my understanding is that 101 is the strongest cleaner.

I had been reading from AL (the duragloss guy on this board) that the marine line of products from Duragloss is a bit stronger and has more powerful cleaners and sometimes UV protection (as an aside, I experienced this to be true when I used their Marine detailer spray and found it to be even slicker than their automobile FCS detailer).

Using this logic, I bought their Marine version of the 101 (501) and used this to prep the vehicle. It worked well with a white LC pad on my PC and left a nice finish. What I didn`t expect was how easy the 105 would be to apply afterward and how slick and shiny the paint we be! I used a blue finessing pad on my PC and it was just as easy to apply as FMJ in really thin layers. A little harder to remove than FMJ -- but it may be correlated to durability...

I really feel like it is a different car any time I open a door or the hatch in the back. The paint is just so smooth feeling. It`s been sitting out for 4 days now (even some rain) and I am excited to see how durable the 105 will be.

All in all I am totally thrilled with 105 and I would consider using it on my Benz next time a sealant is called for. My wife`s van is dark blue so I`m not sure yet how it will look on my black car or how it will compare to other products, but I`m exicited to try. This is a great product.

Where does 101 vs 601 fit in? Are they complementary or replacements? I thought I saw here somewhere someone put 101, then 601 and 105... *shrug*

I read that 601 is like a "base" for 105. Kind of like Z1 was for Zaino polishes. Here is my Click & Brag thread that has some pics of 601 topped with 105 and nothing else.
