Hey guys, been awhile - you know how it is, busy. Anyway, I thought this one was worthwhile.



Unfortunately I never did get pics in the sun, I am working on it... the car looked incredible, but these pictures don`t really show it off. I was keen on getting candid sun shots because I was trying three waxes on the same car for fun. Anyway, here goes with the process. This detail was done over ~2 weeks, probably about 35 hours. The paint is about 30 years old, there was some cc failure unfortunately. It was single stage lacquer, and was soft-moderate.



FWIW, there are (according to the owner) only 29 of these registered. Kind of neat; it got more attention than any car I`ve detailing including CGT`s, Diablo`s, etc... awesome car, tons of personality. Ran like a champ too.



- Clay, clay, clay.

- Tires with poorboys APC 2:1 and a mr. clean magic eraser, wheens with brasso and mothers chrome polish.

- A sinful amount of polishing metal with NevrDull, Brasso, Mothers Alum and Mag, and Mothers Chrome Polish.

- Removed a bunch of trim and polished more.

- Used Hi Temp Bumper Renew on all plastic/rubber.

- Interior Leather got Leatherique Rejuv Oil then Pristine Clean, then a lot of scrubbing.

-) Paint was mostly HTHC/orange @ 1700 or SIP/orange @1600-1800, followed by 106ff/white @1500.

- LSP`s were RMG (entire car), then Souveran, Zymol Concours, and Swissvax Concorso. I wanted to see if I saw a difference on a well prepped car.

- I can`t even remember what else, a lot of fender cleaning, engine cleaning, interior cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, dressing, cleaning.

-) Why did I write this like a list? I don`t know.

Amazing correction work and photos!! The third to last photo should be printed and framed!!! 35 hours, wow, now thats concours level. Bet the bill wasnt too pretty to the owner lol

Thanks! Actually this is the same owner as the Ferrari Daytona I just did (and Aston Vantage), great customer, nice guy, so I always give him as good a deal as I can. Honestly, despite the man hours this car was *very* fun to work on. It`d be a concours level car if it weren`t for the bit of paint failure it has on the fender.

Wow, that car looks amazing!!!!:goodjob Photography is top notch :up . The third last picture is awesome. How did you manage take a picture like that?.

One quesiton I was a little confused was you mentioned there was CC faliure but then said it was single stage. So I am assuming you meant lacquer checking, that looks like a cracked hard boiled egg? Either ways you did an amazing job man!!!



Could you tell the differences in the waxes?

Amazing work as usual! I`d have to agree that the 3rd to the last should not only be framed, but it should be published. That`s something you only see in hardcover photography books.

This thread was a nice way to start the morning. Flawless work on a true classic. The owner found the right detailer for this job. Outstanding work.

Yep, sorry about that. CC failure is my catch all. :) It was lacquer checking, looked just like cracks in a hard boiled egg - right on the front passenger side fender. A shame, but it isn`t too obvious.

:wow: the before and after looks amazing, the finished work is simply stunning and the black looks so BLACK :bow .



Btw would like to hear your opinion on the three wax you used on the car, the Souveran, Zymol Concours, and Swissvax Concorso.
