Hey guys, I just got a VW R32 in Black Magic a couple of months ago and I have noticed that I have water marks on my car no matter how careful I am about drying it. I researched it as much as I could and even bought some products and a porter cable 7424. I went for sonus products and some pads by them too. After trying it out I realized using something nonabrasive wasnt cutting it.

I also noticed the same water marks on the glass so I tried vinegar and it didnt work. I then tried lime away (on the glass only) cause I was tired of losing and this did work, but the marks are back again.

I should go take some pics but I dont think they would show up. A body shop affirmed my suspicion of acid rain type marks, but could only recommend a detailer.

Is there any advice anyone could give me about what route to take next? I am not opposed to doing it myself, I just dont want to put swirl marks or ruin my paint in the process.

Thanks!

Hmm I have had watermarks before but obviously not as serious as yours, as KAIO by hand got rid of a good majority. If that didn`t cut it a light finishing polish and pad combo (blue Edge2k and Menz 106FF in my case) worked for me. With acid rain I imagine it could be severe enough to be too deep into the clear to correct = (

When drying eh, where do you dry and how do you dry? If I can`t afford to dry my car off after I wash it then I won`t wash it with the water we have around here, as the sun bakes the surface quick (black colour such as yourself) and leaves those nasty mineral deposits.

For the glass maybe Autoglym Glass Polish?

Welcome by the way, sharp VW!
