Hello everyone,

I ordered some new ccs green pads for my PC, when I got them they look totally different and act very different, more like a green scour pad!

Here are some photos of a the pad along with another ccs pad. The one on the left is the one in question, the one of the right is the "pretty sure" its a legit ccs.

Here is a close up of the pad in question.

Here is a close up of the pad I`m "pretty sure" is a CCS

I bought the pads off ebay, so I`m starting to think these are Chinese made knockoffs?

Any input? ARE ALL CCS PADS CREATED EQUAL?

oh man. they look quite different indeed. maybe they got different batches or changed they formula recently? I`m interested in what others have to say.

I definitely see the differences.

I do not have any experience using those particular pads.

What does the Ebay seller have to say?

I definitely know there are differences because IIRC, it was Dave KG`s thread about the effectiveness of the CCS pads where I noticed his CCS pads had what seemed to be a deeper "ccs pocket" compared to my CCS pads purchased from Autogeek.

Mine looks more like the one on the left except mine has a full back velcro backing.

EDIT: I just noticed the one on the right has the dual color, softer blue foam. Did you get those from CMA or properautocare?

It looks like the one on the left with the white backing is just the cheap backing velcro. If you look at CG`s site they show CCS pads with the white backing but there are no close-ups of the pockets.

The ebay seller refuned my sale after I stated they are not LC CCS pads, they did not even fight over it so that was cool.

The pad on the right is a CMA pad I think, got it from another member.

Interesting....I just recently received an orange CCS pad from a local seller referred by one of the members here and it came in the same type of packaging.....Were there any adverse effects on your paint since it looks like you used the pad?

Incidentally, the pads were advertised as LC CCS pads....Do you know if there are any markings supposed to be on the pad? Thanks

I tried it but its only lasted about 10min and the velcro blew off, but the pad is VERY agressive, like I stated more like a scour pad in the kitchen/bath

The really interesting thing is that the numbers on the package line up with the pad numbers on LC online listing!

So back to the question..........are all LC pads the same other than the backing additions that various online sellers customize to make it different?

i had something similar happen. ive got one green ccs pad that i got from AG and one from cma. The one from AG looked and like your pad in question, very coarse. But the one from cma had a total different texture, not nearly as aggressive. But ive only gotten one from each so i dont know if it was a fluke or somehow there is a difference between the pads that AG and cma carry.

EDIT: After posting this, while putting the pads away I noticed that even the same color pad varied, so I had to edit my post for the yellow, white, and blue pad.

I just took a look at my pads again. Mine were all purchased from AutoGeek. They`re all new and unused except for the orange pads and one of the white pads.

Here are my observations:

Yellow: Did not come plastic wrapped. Has full back velcro backing. I bought 2 pads. One have shallow pockets. The other one has the deepest pocket of all.

Orange: Did not come plastic wrapped. Has full back velcro backing. Both had pockets that were shallow like the ones you have on the left from eBay.

White: Did not come plastic wrapped. Has full back velcro backing. One has shallow pockets while the other has deep pockets.

Green: Came plastic wrapped in a bag with a Wolfgang Concours Series logo. It says "78-34650DA Patent Pending Worldwide". Has full back velcro backing. Pockets are shallow and the texture looks like the one you have shown in its plastic bag.

Black: Came plastic wrapped, but no logo. The bag says: "#78-74650 Patent Pending Worldwide Made In USA". It was the only pad that had a white velcro backing like the one shown in your pic. Pockets are shallow, similar to the green.

Blue: Did not come plastic wrapped. Has a full velcro backing. Pockets look almost as deep as one of the yellow ones

I notice that the type of foam and the color of the foam also tricks your eyes as to how deep the pockets are because of the shadows. But even without measuring it, I can see closeup that there is a difference in the depth of the pockets.

Hmmm....interesting indeed...I hope someone can chime in with an more answers as well. On the white CCS pad I received from my PC (ordered from properautocare.com) It had some markings like advertisement for the website. Sorry my camera is broken so I can`t take pics to show you.

Here`s a pic of the same color pads purchased at the same time from AutoGeek, both brand new

Now I`m starting to wonder if it`s the machine that manufactures the pads. Autogeek is a very reputable dealer I`m sure (and I think you`ll agree) they wouldn`t send out non-quality products. I guess only way to find out is to contact LC themselves...:sadpace:

the pockets look diff, but the material of the pad looks to be very similar.........
