I`m finally getting ready to embark on my purchase of a PC and want to finalize what products I will be buying with it. This is mainly for use on my Black 2003 Alero which has quite a bit of swirling, but I may end up doing friends cars as well.

For swirl removal I was going to go with PB SSR 1, and 2 (or 2.5?)

I was going to get Klass AIO and 4* UPP as my polish and sealant.

Whats everyone think?

Go with the 2.5 and 1.

Could you elaborate why the 2.5 instead of the 2?

SSR 2.5 is, IMO, much more versatile. It can get out some pretty rough marring, but it doesn`t always reqiure a finer polish to finish it up. You can go from 2.5 to your LSP, which is pretty amazing considering the amount of marring you can get rid of with it.

Ok thanks for the clearup on the 2 vs 2.5 guys.

Another question I had, about steps would be this. I assume I would want to start with SSR 1 and a light cut pad and work my way up to more abrasive things, or is it ok to just head out to the 2.5 (my novice opinion says SSR 1 isn`t going to cut it on my car).

Anyways, assuming I started with SSR 1 and a light cut pad, would my next step up be SSR 1 with a heavy cut pad, or SSR 2 with the light cut pad?

Basically, which is the first step up, a tougher cut pad or a more aggressive product?

Well SSR 1 wont cut any defects on your car. ITs a pretty light polish. You could ,depending on how many pads you have. start our with SSR2 on a LC pad and see were that gets ya. If you dont get anywere after a couple passes switch to ssr2.5 . You will want to go to SSR 1 after SSR2.5 . So you wont want to start with SSR1 unless your car is almost brand new and defect free.
