Hi to all,

Firstly I must state that I am not a professional detailer and I am looking for help and support. It is my first click and brag so here goes….

My buddy has a 2004 Seat Leon Cupra R and it is a nice car. He was over visiting me yesterday and I drunkenly offered to clean her today. My buddy agreed and it was my first time with a dark coloured car. I have had the Porter Cable a little while now but still need practise.

The paint was really badly scratched and swirrled in places. It looked like someone had been wiping it down with a towel when dry and dirty. You can imagine how this must have looked......

My mate was not bothered about the wheels or interior so it was a quick cleanup inside by him whilst I got the kit ready.

If it was my decision I would have had the wheels off, thoroughly cleaned and sealed with a nice dressing on the tyres, but alas it was not.

So here is the process

Rinse

Wheels cleaned with Sonus Rimbright

Rinse and washed twice

Clayed using Sonus Grey clay

Wash and Rinse

Paint corrected using

Swissvax Medium Cleaner fluid and Sonus Das Orange Pad

Sonus SFX-2 and Sonus Das Green pad

Paintwork cleaned using Swissvax Cleaner fluid

Waxed using Swissvax Onyx wax

All glass cleaned using Autoglym Fast Glass

I have a tree in my property that is dropping pollen and blossom so excuse any white bits. Also my camera aint that great………

The third picture shows a tree reflecting in the bonnet, the "line" in this pic is not a scratch, it is infact a telephone comunication cable !

Not really much sunshine today, well I do live in Scotland after all :o It was a fight against the rain all day really. Every time I started a new step I felt a spit of rain. I was worried as I did not want to leave the car half finished or without any wax protedtion but it worked out in the end.

Any questions please ask, any tips greatly recieved

Dave

Other than the lack of sunlight what do ya reckon?

I can honestly say there was no swirls when I finished. The only defects were deeper scratches that really need a wet sand and / or more agressive pad/polish
