Hey guys.
This is the follow up to my thread from yesterday about doing the car for the girl who I am trying to win back. 2001 Integra LS white. Paint beyond haggard. Well to be perfectly honest, I didn`t want to put the pictures in my old thread because I wanted as many people to see them as possible. So sue me, I spent a long time on this car and I want to show off! :doh
Here is the original thread http://www.detailcity.com/showthread.php?t=12532

Anyway, a few modifications to the steps. the whole process went something like this:
Megs Gold bath
Mothers Clay. Not only did it take multiple passes but also 2 ENTIRE clay bars.
NXT wash
SSR2.5 with Heavy Cut pad
SSR2 with Light Cut pad
SSR1 with polishing pad
Megs trim restore
Mothers Carnuba (paste) wax by hand

The toxins and other crap in the paint took an extremely long time to remove. Typically I can clay a whole car this size in about 20 minutes. I spent over an hour and a half alone claying this car. It just did not want to give up the evil that was hiding in the paint!
It actually took a few passes with the SSR2.5 before it really started to get back some of its gloss, and the dust was formidable to say the least. After that it was pretty much smooth sailing.
The only other difficulty I had was getting the wax off! I figure 100% carnuba I would let it sit for a little while, then take it off after it had sunk in. Hardest wax I have ever taken off a car in my life. It probably didn`t want to give any up because it hadn`t had wax in so long.
Anyway, without further talk from me here are the pictures! As always comments and suggestions welcome.

OK here I am working and my bored roomate started fidgeting with the camera, out of the 20 or so pictures he wasted 2 or 3 came out usable. This is a good one of the tape work.

After about 5 hours of work, here is the final product.

All in all I am extremely pleased with the results. I think I lost about 4 pounds in sweat working on this one, (it was kinda warm in SoCal today). I received one of the best compliments that really made me laugh. One of our big stoner friends was here and I guess he was pretty baked. He walked up to the car and touched the paint and said,
"Whoa! Shiny AND SOFT!"
Just the way he said it reminded me of Slater from Dazed and Confused. Good times. Yes the girl flipped her lid over the car, and we went out and had dinner drinks, some billiards and other stuff. I felt no apprehension whatsoever about letting her pay.
THE END!

Those are the Propel pads from ExcelDetail.com
I like them very much, although they don`t really seem to last a really long time.
This detail took all day, so the finish shots are in the garage under the fluorescents. I gave the car back to the owner so I might be able to get some sunny day shots later, but I don`t have any right now.
Thanks for the kind words guys.

Looks great, if you get a car that bad again, I would highly suggest getting a decon kit. Claying for 2 hours sucks, but an ABC wash would get 90% of the crap out, in 15 minutes.

P.S. hope you have better luck than I did with the "I fixed your car, lets hook up" concept :).
