Hi all, Yes I am a new-bee and was wondering if you all have done any resto work on 911 engines?

What is the most durable "finish" for engine bay alum parts that keeps the natural alum color (I dont want to silver powdercoat) and ease of maintaining clean?

I have tried the following with poor results:

Sharks hyde, everclear, wd-40 and others I cant remember. Will clear powdercoat work?

Maybe clear anodizing or some plating process?

Thanks!

Hmm. I`d like to know about this also, as I drive an `85 911.

Bob, I can say that I had good results using 303 on the black stuff.

Been thinking about checking out something called "Hyper Detail" I`ve rady about here...

I`ve never tried it or no anyone that has, but you may want to investigate ZOOP Seal and see if anyone here has used it. Supposedly pretty good for metal parts!
